Born on 16th March, 1971, Rajpal Yadav, a noted film and theatre actor hails from a small town Shahjahanpur in the heart of India. From an early age, he was passionate about acting and he joined Bharatendu Natya Academy, Lucknow (1992-1994) to receive formal training in theatre and then went on to join National School of Drama in Delhi (1994-1997). Rajpal shifted base to Mumbai in 1997 to try his luck in the Hindi film industry. He began his career on television with Doordarshan’s television serial ‘Mungeri Ke Bhai Naurangilal’.
Lady luck smiled at him when Ram Gopal Verma spotted and cast him in his film ‘Jungle’. Rajpal’s commendable performance in the film won him the award for the best actor in a negative role at Prestigious Screen Awards, 2001.
His notable films include ‘Hungama’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, ‘Chup Chup Ke’, ‘Garam Masala, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, ‘Dhol’, ‘Malamaal Weekly’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya’.
He has also played the lead characters in many films like ‘Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon’, ‘Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh’, ‘Ladies Tailor’, ‘Kushti’ and ‘Mirch’. He is the lead for an international yet to be released film called ‘Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain’. He has been honored with the ‘Yash Bharati’ Award and the ‘Janpad Ratna’ Award.

Pied Piper is Abhishek’s first Hindi feature Film where he plays the role of an aspirational and rebellious youth who, on becoming a part of it, gets as corrupted as the system itself.
